Tokomololo Marks Completion of Japan-Funded Water System Upgrade

14TH November, the village of Tokomololo celebrated the official handover of their upgraded water system funded by Japan through its Grant Assistance for Human Security Projects otherwise known in short as GGP. The Acting Ambassador of Japan to Tonga, Mr. DAISHOJI Toshiyuki, highlighted that in recognition of water shortages suffered by the village especially in the newly settled areas, Japan has decided to help the community to install a new water tank, stand, and a new water pump to ensure a continuous water supply for hygiene purposes. In the project briefing, Mrs. Kilisitina Tuaimei'api, CEO of the Ministry of Finance, stated that many communities in Tonga are currently enjoying clean water thanks to Japan's GGP assistance and that her Ministry is indeed happy to assist communities in cooperating with the Embassy. The guest of honor, Hon. Siosaia Lausi'i Ma'afu, and the people of Tokomololo were delighted to witness this new milestone in the collaboration between the Embassy of Japan and their village for greater sustainability in water management.
