The Kingdom of Tonga, with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific, and Climate Change Fund, will implement a project that aims to enhance the well-being and quality of life of older people in Tonga by providing appropriate, safe, and high-quality integrated health and care services and support to caregivers. 

 

PROJECT TITLE: Consulting service to prepare a pre-feasibility study and review and finalize the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Concept Note “Towards climate change resilient coastal fisheries and aquaculture in Tonga”

 

 

MANILA, PHILIPPINES (12 April 2024) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Tonga today signed a $10 million policy-based grant agreement to help expedite economic recovery from disasters caused by natural hazards and health emergencies.

The Honorable Prime Minister of Tonga, Hon. Hu’akavameiliku addressed the official opening of the one-day high level talk of the Government of Tonga and Development Partner’s Forum with delegates from foreign agencies, diplomatic corps, development partners, government CEOs and officials and sector representatives pursuing the theme, “Effective Development Cooperation for a Progressive Tonga”.
